Wedding venues

The venue is almost always the first booking and the one that constrains everything else - your date, your guest count, your budget and often your caterer. Most couples book twelve to eighteen months out, because popular venues take only one wedding a day.

What to ask before you book

  • Ask what the quoted price actually includes: exclusive use, tables and chairs, staffing, and whether there is a minimum spend.
  • Check the wet-weather plan in person, not on the website. Outdoor ceremony spaces need a real indoor alternative.
  • Confirm the licence for civil ceremonies if you want to marry on site rather than at a register office.
  • Ask about sound limiters and curfew times before you book a band.
