Wedding caterers

Catering is usually the largest single line in a wedding budget after the venue, and it is priced per head - so it moves every time your guest list does. Many venues have an approved supplier list, which is worth checking before you fall for someone outside it.

What to ask before you book

  • Ask whether the quote includes staff, crockery, glassware, linen and cake-cutting, or whether those are extras.
  • Get dietary requirements from your RSVPs rather than chasing separately later.
  • Confirm when they need final numbers - it usually sets your RSVP deadline.
  • Ask what happens to the food if the schedule slips by half an hour, because it often does.
